OUR LINEN JOURNEY

IN THE SAC is proud to work directly with flax farmers in Europe to produce
some of the world's highest quality linen, using artisanal skills that have been passed down
from generation to generation. Our approach harnesses every process, from field to finished fabric,
and considers the journey from seed, all the way to your home.

Linen grows abundantly in a stretch of coastal land from Northern France, through Belgium to the Netherlands, where it has been famously farmed for centuries due to its superior qualities. Linen farmed in its natural landscape and climate is gentler on the soil, relies on water only from rainfall and grows longer, stronger flax without the use of fertilisers or pesticides. Every part of the flax plant is used during linen cultivation, creating by-products, such as linseed oil and fibre for particle board.

High quality linen starts in the field, not the factory, and our flax partners are celebrated artisans, cultivating the longest flax, which in turn produces the smoothest and strongest fibres and yarn. It's these strong, smooth fibres and yarns that provide IN THE SAC products with unparalleled quality, longevity and luxury.

They bring over 60 years of experience in linen textiles and power their production with renewable energy sources. They are qualified with the OEKO-TEX 100 certification and are European flax certified.

02

Our mill in China is one of the finest in the region. They are recognised for their superior spinning and weaving processes, which have enabled them to establish a prestigious partnership with our European flax producers. They are also OEKO-TEX 100 qualified and are holders of the GOTS certification.

SHIPPING

We offer world-wide, carbon-neutral shipping with our innovative in-cart tool, which calculates the carbon impact of each order based on weight and delivery location, as well as shares details on the project each offset contributes toward.

PACKAGING

Where possible, IN THE SAC reduces packaging materials, uses biodegradable packaging materials or re-uses packaging materials.

The reusable linen totes used to package our sheets, quilts and sets are crafted from production off-cuts, reducing waste, and have become client favourites around the home for high-frequency reuse, including as market bags.

We offer world-wide delivery with either our eco-packaging, or our signature black box, which is both a beautiful gifting experience and re-usable.
